Gold, Silver and Bronze for Tinhorn Creek
at the 2008 Okanagan Fall Wine Festival

Oliver, BC... On Friday October 10th, the results of the 28th Annual Okanagan Fall Wine Festival Judging Awards were announced, making an exciting day for Tinhorn Creek Vineyards. The Oliver winery took three medals; a gold, silver and bronze. Earning GOLD was the 2006 Tinhorn Creek Vineyards Cabernet Franc, which is available through the winery or at wine stores throughout BC and Alberta for just $17.99. "We couldn't be happier that our 2006 Cabernet Franc has been recognized in this way along with a number of other great BC wines. In these turbulent financial times it's great to know that you can still find a fantastic wine for under $20.

They're getting harder to find but our Cabernet Franc is one of them." says Shaun Everest, General Manager. Taking SILVER was the yet to be released 2005 Oldfield's Collection Syrah. This is just the second vintage for this wine, and will be released in November as an exclusive offering to Tinhorn Creek Crush Club Members (info on Crush Club available at http://www.tinhorn.com/crush.asp). Rounding out the bunch, the 2007 Tinhorn Creek Vineyards Pinot Gris picked up a BRONZE medal; pick up your bottle at the winery or BC or Alberta fine wine stores. The Okanagan Fall Wine Festival Judging Awards takes place during the Wine Festival every year in early October. The wines are judged by a panel of eight over a period of two days. These judges tasted 430 wines over the course of 2 days (2 panels of four judges, so each tasted 108 each day). Although they taste the wine in varietal flights each wine is scored and critiqued individually to determine if it is worthy of a medal. Wines that have "gold medal" potential are brought back and judged by all 8 judges together and they determine as a group whether the wine is a gold or should receive a silver. On the hillside overlooking vineyard, sagebrush, and the old gold mining creek that gave the winery its name, Tinhorn Creek Vineyards is located just south of Oliver BC, in the famed Golden Mile wine growing district. As the number one winery destination, evoking classic south Okanagan terroir, Tinhorn Creek Vineyards offers an unrivalled visitor experience and wines that rank among the best in the world.
